For some reason, I have always associated corals with spring. For that reason, I decided to review one of my many corals for you all today! Today we have Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Coral Reef. This is the old formula, although I haven't picked up the new formula to compare the two, so I can't say if there are any differences between the two. Review and swatches are under the jump.
Coral Reef is a coral leaning pink creme. The formula in my particular bottle is a little difficult to work with. The swatches show three coats, and parts of my nails were still patchy after three. Using a good top coat does help smooth out the patchiness, but I had to use two coats of top coats on some fingers to do it. I also did not have a good wear time with this polish. After wearing it for a day, there was a noticeable chip on my ring finger. Usually when polishes chip on me, they chip at the thumb and index finger, because those fingers tend to be put under the most stress.
Overall, I give this polish two stars. I really hate to do it, because I love the color, but the issues with this polish are severe enough that if I were to wear a coral, I would pick up one of the other ones I own. The new formula may have improved this polish, and if I see it, I may pick it up to compare the two.
Also today my pictures are only with top coat. I was so concerned with smoothing out the patches that I neglected to take pictures sans top coat.
