As I am writing this, it is currently my spring break. Between marathoning Doctor Who and studying for the midterms I have after break, I needed something girly and happy to pick up my mood. Cue SinfulColors Pinky Glitter - the result of a recent drugstore run. It is the perfect combination of pink and glitter to brighten up my day. Review and swatches are under the jump.
Pinky Glitter has small hexagonal and fine glitter packed in a light pink jelly base. Because of this, there is still a visible nail line even at three coats. The polish dries quickly between coats. It has a rough texture after drying, so I would recommend a top coat. One coat of top coat still leaves a bit of roughness, but two evens it out to a smooth finish. Swatches are shown below with and without top coat.
Just for fun, I decided to try Pinky Glitter over a white polish. My current favorite white is French White Crème from wet n wild's revamped Wild Shine line. While taking the polish off of my ring finger to swatch it, I discovered, like most glitters, this polish is very difficult to remove. I put two coats of Pinky Glitter over French White Crème. While this does remove the visible nail line and shows off the light pink jelly base, the glitter does not have the same impact as it does when worn on its own. The difference is especially noticeable in the picture taken in the sun. I prefer Pinky Glitter worn by itself. The visible nail line is worth the amount of glitter on the nail.
