Manicure Ideas - Sun and Moon

Yesterday, I posted a review of a polish. Today, I'll be showing the another aspect of this blog - manicure ideas. This manicure is called "Sun and Moon." The polishes used and my thoughts on this manicure are under the jump, along with additional pictures.

Sometimes my ideas for manicures are pre-planned and sometimes they occur to me piece by piece. This particular manicure was a piece by piece one. I started out with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey on every finger. After some thought, I added Orly Saturated to the top half of my ring finger. I still wasn't satisfied, and after looking through the tiny selection I had with me (a combination of the polishes I brought home for spring break and polishes I purchased while home) I hit upon Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose and Revlon Top Speed Celestial FX. Gilded Rose went on top of For Audrey, and Celestial FX went on top of Saturated. The end result was reminiscent of the day and night.

However, I find myself still not quite satisfied with this. If I could do this manicure over again, For Audrey would be used only on my ring finger with Saturated - the effect reminds me of the night sky over the land. For the rest of my fingers I would use an actual light blue - perhaps Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blue-Away or Salon Perfect Baby Blues.
