O.P.I. - My Pointe Exactly

I mentioned in my Flower Power review that I have a fondness for milky sheer polishes. This is the polish that started that fondness. It was originally bought because I was looking for a nice light gray. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it grew on me. My Pointe Exactly is from O.P.I.'s 2012 New York City Ballet collection, which was their Soft Shades collection for that year. Review and swatches are under the jump.

My Pointe Exactly is a sheer gray polish. The formula is very runny, and if you aren't careful it will flood your cuticles while you are applying it. However, it is buildable and is wearable by the third coat. I used three coats on most of my fingers, with the exception of my thumb, which has four to even it out. Because it is a sheer polish, there is a visible nail line no matter how many coats of polish you put on. This color is very pale and is only barely distinguishable from my skin tone, but I like it because it gives my hands a very soft, gentle look.

Overall, I give this polish four stars. The color is very nice and looks good on my hands, but the runny formula makes it difficult to control. This polish also has a slow dry time, which depending on the top coat used may not be an issue for some, but I generally do not use a top coat marketed as a "fast dry" top coat. My swatches today are only with top coat.
