Well, it has been some time since my last post, hasn't it? Finals, moving home from college, and not having my polishes with me for a good portion of May and June was enough to put a cork in any posts. However, I am back and ready to continue where I left off. I have a few post ideas from when I had a regular schedule in May, and I recently moved my collection into a Helmer, so expect a substantial post on that soon. Anyways, today's post features my Fourth of July themed manicure! Pictures and how-to are below the jump.
As I have mentioned several times on this blog, I have no skill at nail art whatsoever. That has not changed in the two months since my last update. Therefore, this manicure is very simple. The polishes I used were Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Boom, Broadway Nails Bloody Lips, and wet n wild Megalast Break the Ice. I put three coats of Blue Boom on my thumb, two coats of Bloody Lips on my pointer and ring fingers, and three coats of Break the Ice on my middle and pinky fingers. However, looking at the pictures I think I would put another coat of Break the Ice on my pinky.
Overall, this manicure is a subtler way to show patriotism. The nails look faintly like the flag, but it isn't obvious at first glance. Also, Blue Boom reminds me every so slightly of fireworks, which are my favorite part of this holiday. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday!
